As it stands, Brentford sit top of the table, with 40 points from their 16 games played. Saltdean sit second with 34 points from 13 games played.

One spot down is Dartford, the other title challenger as it stands, who have played just 11 games but have registered 28 points.

Speaking ahead of the clash, defender Lucy Potter revealed that the group are excited to show what they can do.

“We’re feeling confident,” she said. “That’s not because of the opposition but it’s about focusing ourselves and the run we are on. We’ve grown as a group massively and we’re ready for it.

“It’s a great experience playing at the Gtech. You’re always nervous leading up to it but when you’re on the pitch, you switch into football mode.

“I’m trying to instil that in the younger girls this week; accept your feelings and believe in your ability.

“It’ll be a tight game, everyone’s up for it. As long as we give it our all and can put smiles on people’s faces, that’s what it’s all about.”

Sunday's clash will be Brentford’s last at home until the end of March, with away games to Bromley, Ashford Town (Middlesex), Millwall and Sutton United to come in the next four.

Last time out

A tight tussle in November of last year saw Saltdean hand Brentford their first league loss of the season, saluting 1-0.

Making the trip down to the south coast, Carly Williams’ side fought bravely but were ultimately undone by a first half stoppage-time goal by Saltdean’s Naomi Robinson.

Previously at the Gtech, the Bees fought out a tough 4-2 win over Bromley in the LSE Division One North last season.

Chloe Logie scored a hat-trick while Ashley Cheatley added one goal, the Bees picking up three valuable points en route to the league title and subsequent promotion to the Premier division.
