It’s been a mixed bag of results for the west Londoners in the past three league outings, with a draw, a win and a loss.
With Swansea sitting eighth, a point ahead of the young Bees but with two games in hand, Wednesday’s clash is an important one in Brentford’s quest to rise up the table.
The west Londoners fell to a 1-0 away defeat to West Bromwich Albion in the PL Cup last time out.
Despite Gustavo Nunes being sent off late in the first half, Saunders’ side were the better of the two teams for the remainder of the game, creating multiple chances that couldn’t be finished off.
Previously in the league, Brentford lost to Bournemouth 3-2 at Wheatsheaf Park.
After going 2-0 down in the first half, the Bees responded through goals from Iwan Morgan and Romelle Donovan.
It was short-lived, however, as the Cherries found a third goal late in the second half to secure all three points.
Swansea come into Wednesday’s game sat eighth in the PDL table with six wins and three losses from their nine fixtures.
The Swans started their season strongly, winning four games on the bounce to begin their campaign.
A 4-1 loss to Bournemouth broke that run, however Swansea bounced back to beat QPR 4-0 in the league and Wolves 4-2 in the PL Cup.
The Swans have had no issues scoring goals this season, their tally of 28 in the PDL leaving them seventh in the competition, while their 17 goals conceded is the fifth-best in the league.
The club will have updates of the game against Swansea on social media, as well as a match report on the club's website and app.
