MATCH REPORT: Valencia CF beaten at Riazor | OneFootball

Valencia CF lost 3-1 on the road against RC Deportivo de A Coruña on LaLiga Matchday 3, with Umar Sadiq scoring what proved to be a consolation goal for the team.

After the opening minutes, with both teams sizing each other up, RC Deportivo took the initiative before the quarter hour. A corner kick deflected off César Tárrega's back and into the net (1-0).

Three minutes later, the home side increased their lead with a counter-attack finished off by Aubameyang, making it 2-0.

Valencia CF responded, capitalising on a mistake in the Galician side's passing around the defence. Sadiq stole the ball and scored to reduce the deficit (2-1).

Seven minutes later, Diakhaby prevented Depor from scoring a third goal with a crucial block of Nsongo Bil's shot from inside the box.

Subsequently, Valencia CF created several chances on Leo Román's goal, but were unable to convert them. Seconds before the end of the first half, Javi Guerra enjoyed a dangerous opportunity with a shot from inside the penalty area, but his effort missed the target.

SECOND HALF

Four minutes after the restart, Nsongo Bil threatened again with a shot from outside the area. Valencia CF responded with a strike from Ugrinic, which Leo Román saved.

Dimitrievski had to intervene in crucial style, stretching to prevent another goal from Aubameyang.

But a further setback was to come. In the 60th minute, Nsongo Bil crossed and Diakhaby got a touch on it to prevent a third goal, but the ball still ended up in the net, increasing the deficit to 3-1.

Hugo Duro, Danjuma, and Otorbi were all brought on, and Dimitrievski subsequently prevented a fourth goal with a great save from an Aubameyang header.

There was no way back for Valencia CF, who dropped all three points. Next up for them is another away game, against FC Barcelona on Sunday, September 6th at 4:15pm.
