Valencia CF’s LaLiga Matchday 28 game against Real Oviedo ended with a 1-0 scoreline at the Carlos Tartiere, as a single goal decided the contest.
Valencia CF started the match very offensively and with a high press. However, the first dangerous move was from Real Oviedo, as Thiago Fernández fired a shot from outside the box that went just wide of Stole Dimitrievski's left post.

In the following minutes, amidst pouring rain, both teams battled for control of the game. In the 25th minute, Largie Ramazani came very close to putting Valencia CF ahead with a shot from distance, but it was only slightly off target.
However, five minutes later, David Costas scored for Real Oviedo. The centre back capitalised on a move by Thiago to finish off a cutback in the area and fire past Dimitrievski (1-0).
Valencia CF reacted to the goal, and Javi Guerra launched a counter-attack that he attempted to finish himself, forcing Aarón Escandell to intervene to prevent the equaliser. Two minutes later, Dimitrievski made a top draw save to deny Oviedo team another goal.
SECOND HALF
Three minutes after the restart, Dimitrievski made a stellar save from a header by Viñas. A few minutes later, Ilic had another chance to score Real Oviedo's second.
Carlos Corberán made a triple substitution, bringing on Hugo Duro, Luis Rioja, and Almeida.
Moments later, Alberto Reina teased another goal for Oviedo with a shot from outside the penalty area.
In the 59th minute, Valencia CF had a dangerous opportunity through Gayà, but his great shot was kept out by Escandell. Gradually, the team began building attacks and pinning Oviedo back in their own half. Ten minutes later, Ramazani again threatened with another good left-footed shot from outside the penalty area, just off target.

In the 77th minute, Alberto Reina had a second goal for the home side disallowed after a VAR review, with offside given against Ilyas.
Lucas Beltrán came on late in the contest to try to boost the attack, having missed the previous game against Alavés.
Dimitrievski and Cömert prevented Hassan from scoring on a counter-attack in Oviedo’s last chance of the match.

Valencia CF pressed and fought until the end, but the equaliser never materialised.
Next up, Valencia CF will travel to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán next Saturday, for a 9pm kickoff against Sevilla FC on Matchday 29.
