MATCH REPORT: Valencia CF lose 0-1 to CD Teruel | OneFootball

Valencia CF’s fifth preseason friendly of the summer was held at the Estadi Antonio Puchades against CD Teruel, and ended 0-1 to the visitors.

Almost immediately there was a chance for Valencia CF when Wanjala played a through ball behind the opposing defenders for Otorbi, who attempted to round the Teruel goalkeeper. However, the defence intervened before the ball crossed the line.

Three minutes later, Valencia CF created their second dangerous opportunity with a well-worked move involving Wanjala, Dieng, Majol, and Danjuma. The Dutchman finished the chance, but his shot was cleared away. Valencia CF maintained complete control of the game, and around the 20th minute, Gayà nearly put them ahead, but his shot was again closed down.

Despite Valencia CF's dominance, CD Teruel took the lead with a goal from Eduardo Gallardo (0-1). Carlos Corberán’s side responded with an attack into the Teruel penalty area, followed by a shot from Gayà that was once again blocked by the defence.

Five minutes before halftime, Danjuma came very close to equalising with a move started by Otorbi and finished by the Dutch winger, with a shot that grazed the top left corner. Shortly after, Almeida hit the crossbar with a free kick.

SECOND HALF

Valencia CF started the second half with several attacks on goal. In the 55th minute, Eduardo Gallardo threatened with a dinked shot that went wide.

Diakhaby headed the ball from a Raba free kick, but the Teruel goalkeeper made the save. Minutes later, Gayà shot from outside the box, also leading to a parry.

In the final minutes, Marc Martínez's shot from inside the penalty area whistled past the right post. CD Teruel had a chance to double their lead, although Rivero made a good save.

Valencia CF will play again on Thursday at 7:30pm at the Antonio Puchades, against Hércules CF.
