Jean-Philippe Mateta has been linked with a move away from Crystal Palace in the winter transfer window.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims Mateta has told Palace that he wants to leave the club.
He said on his YouTube channel: “Jean-Philippe Mateta has communicated his decision to Crystal Palace today, informing the club that he wants to leave during the January transfer window.
“Palace now face a key decision – keep the striker or allow him to depart, with Aston Villa and Juventus both interested in the player.”
Palace recently sold captain Marc Guehi to Manchester City, and may be reluctant to lose another key player in the same window.
The Eagles have placed a €40 million valuation on the French striker, which has discouraged Juventus. They have identified Youssef En-Nesyri as their primary alternative.
Villa have also been linked with Mateta, although former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is also on their radar.
Mateta’s contract expires in 2027, and Palace could still get a sizable fee for him at the end of the season.
Palace need him to stand a chance of winning the Europa Conference League and secure European qualification for the second consecutive season.
Mateta has featured in 33 games across all competitions this season, bagging 10 goals and two assists.
