Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is not interested in a move to the Saudi Pro League and wants to remain in England or move to Serie A.
Mateta has told Crystal Palace that he wants to leave the club in the current transfer window after refusing to sign a new contract at Selhurst Park. He has 18 months to run on his current contract with the Eagles.
Juventus and Aston Villa are both pursuing the 28-year-old, who could become the second high-profile sale of the January window for Palace, after Marc Guehi’s £20m move to Manchester City.
Mateta has scored 38 goals in the Premier League over the last two-and-a-half season for Crystal Palace to attract interest from rival clubs.
However, despite rival enquiries from the Saudi Pro League, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the forward has no interest in a lucrative move to the Middle East.
He wants to remain in the Premier League or move to Serie A as he looks to boost his hopes of making the France squad for this summer’s World Cup.
Mateta made his debut for France in 2025 and has scored twice in three caps for Les Bleus.
