Matheus Bidu became Corinthians’ fifth highest-scoring left-back after netting in a 2-1 defeat to Chapecoense on Sunday.
He struck inside the opening 10 minutes to put his side ahead, his 11th goal for the club. According to Meu Timao, the strike lifted him into the top five for the position, moving past Cláudio Mineiro, now seventh.
Bidu is level with Gustavo Nery on 11 in fifth place. Ahead of them are Fábio Santos and Wladimir, joint leaders on 32, André Santos on 24, and Divo Pavão on 16.
The ranking features 48 names. Fourteen players share 35th place, each with one goal.
His effort could not prevent a fourth straight league defeat, with the league’s bottom side coming from behind. Corinthians ended the round 11th on 32 points.
Next up is the first leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals against Estudiantes in La Plata on Wednesday 9 at 21:30, with Fernando Diniz’s side visiting Estadio UNO.
