Corinthians were beaten 3-0 by Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday night at Estádio Municipal de Bragança in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista, and left-back Matheus Bidu called for swift adjustments after the setback.
"Regardless of being at the start of the season, Corinthians cannot concede three goals the way it happened. It was a negative and unexpected result for us. We recognise the opponent’s quality, but we made mistakes that should not have occurred. Now the focus is to work on adjustments during the week, because on Sunday we have a fundamental clássico ahead." He told CazéTV.
"We know all the players in the squad have the capacity to wear the Corinthians shirt. As I mentioned before, the result was unexpected, but now we need to put into practice what was trained. Regardless of being at the start of the year, we still have a lot to show across the season."
"We have a lot to improve, but during the season we will look to show that and, God willing, the result will be a victorious one for all of us."
With the defeat, Corinthians dropped from second to ninth in the table, temporarily outside the knockout places. They remain on three points from the opener and await the end of the round to confirm their position. Next up is São Paulo at Neo Química Arena on 18 January at 16:00 in the third round.
