Mathys Tel praised Igor Tudor for the confidence he has placed in him since taking over as head coach.
It has been a mixed season for the French forward, who was originally left out of Spurs’ Champions League squad under former boss Thomas Frank before later being added.
But he helped his side to a 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, Tudor’s first victory in charge at Tottenham, though it was not enough to book their place in the Champions League quarter finals as they exited the competition.
“I can feel that he (Tudor) has put the confidence that was needed before, so you can see on the pitch I have got more confidence,” Tel said. “I can create situations. So, yes, he gave me some things that I didn’t have before.
“I would say we are together. We are more and more together. We are talking because maybe before we didn’t speak enough but now with the situation, we talk more and we are more about the details.
“So, you know, in football, details make the difference and I’m very happy about this difference.”

Tel says his side’s win over Atletico Madrid can act as a springboard, as their attention turns back towards their Premier League relegation battle and a clash with relegation rivals Nottingham Forest next up.
“We can show to every team that it’s not easy to play against us,” Tel said.
“We showed a big, big, big mentality against Atletico Madrid. This is a Champions League game so when we go to the Premier League game, we have to play with the same energy, the same mindset.
“We believe. We have to believe and we will do it. I believe we will do it. I trust my teammates. I trust the manager. I trust everybody. So if we stick together, if we show that we will do it together, we will do it.”
