Matic has been handed a two-match Serie A suspension for insulting the referee, with several others also banned, including Napoli’s Juan Jesus.

According to Football Italia, the Sassuolo midfielder was sent off during the 5-0 defeat to Inter and has also been fined 10,000.

Parma’s Mariano Troilo received a 2,000 fine and a one-match ban after initially refusing to leave the pitch when dismissed.

Juan Jesus will miss Napoli’s meeting with Roma after he was shown two yellow cards in the 3-2 win over Genoa.

One-match Serie A bans were also issued to Tommaso Pobega of Bologna, Alessio Romagnoli of Lazio, Lameck Banda of Lecce and Marius Marin of Pisa.
