Matt Law was in fine form on the London is Blue podcast this week, and as well as laying into Chelsea’s players for their shocking attitudes which got Liam Rosenior sacked, he also looked at the candidates to replace the Englishman.
Above all, he focused on the three candidates who have been confirmed to him as in the running at the moment:
“Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva, and Xabi Alonso, There are others, so far unnamed and so far unsure. It may be that they’ve been named and not confirmed, if one might be Cesc Fabregas, if one would be Eddie Howe, he has been getting a mention.
“I would be surprised… I think Cesc Fabregas would be a very good candidate, but I would be very surprised well in the running at the moment.
“So I think it’s probably worth focusing on the three favourites.”
There is a long way to go in this race.

There are some interesting thoughts about Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro’s link up in the Athletic this week, with the pair not yet clicking.
Romeo Lavia looks to be a key player in the run-in after returning to fitness, and he spoke after Sunday’s win about Calum McFarlane.
