Mattéo Guendouzi has been fined €50,000 and handed a four-match suspension after taunting Lyon supporters in the Champions League play-off second leg. UEFA confirmed that the Fenerbahçe midfielder has received the ban and fine.
The decision follows the 26 August return leg between Lyon and Fenerbahçe, won 2-1 by the side from Türkiye after a 1-1 first leg.
The punishment cites insulting persons present, provoking spectators and breaching fundamental rules of good conduct. Two of those games are suspended for a probationary period of one year from the date of the decision.
Mason Greenwood has been fined €30,000 and given a one-match suspension for breaching fundamental rules of good conduct. That suspension carries a one-year probationary period starting from the decision date.
Lyon goalkeeping coach Antonio Ferreira has been banned for five matches in UEFA club competitions he would otherwise have taken part in, for serious assault after attempting to strike the former Marseille player. Two of those matches are suspended for one year on probation from the date of the decision.
