Matteo Politano posts cryptic Instagram story after Italy’s EURO 2024 knockout | OneFootball

Serie A side Napoli struggled in the 2023/24 season but Matteo Politano was one of their better players in the campaign. The winger wasn’t selected by Luciano Spalletti for the European championships but it seems as if Politano has expressed his feelings after Italy got knocked out of the competition at the hands of Switzerland.

Italy put in a poor performance yesterday and were at times, dominated by the Swiss. They couldn’t create much and looked physically absent. They lacked variety and incisiveness in attack, as they fell fully flat.

After the game, Politano posted a cryptic story on Instagram and it perhaps suggested that the winger believes that the knockout may not have happened if he had been selected. It was also perhaps suggesting a sense of ‘I told you so’ from the player, who was actually part of Spalletti’s Napoli side that won the Serie A.
