According to The Laziali, Maurizio Sarri is widely expected to leave Lazio in the coming days, with Napoli and Atalanta emerging as his likely options.

The 67-year-old returned to the club last summer but has been at odds with president Claudio Lotito since the season began, the pair trading barbs in public. The report adds his exit is imminent, with a meeting planned to agree a contract termination.

Sarri is viewed as favourite to succeed Antonio Conte, who is on his way out of Napoli. The report says Napoli have put forward a two-year deal worth €2.7 million net per season, with bonuses tied to the league and Champions League.

While tempted by a return to Naples, where he enjoyed three successful seasons from 2015 to 2018, Sarri has yet to make up his mind. He also has an offer from Atalanta.

The report says the Orobici have chosen Cristiano Giuntoli as sporting director, with long-time aide Giuseppe Pompilio set to join him in Bergamo. He shares an excellent relationship with both from their time together at Napoli.

Giuntoli is planning to replace Raffaele Palladino immediately and has already contacted Sarri to invite him to join Atalanta, the report adds. The coach will reflect on his options but is expected to decide soon.
