Max Eberl expects Serge Gnabry to be fit for Real Madrid second leg

According to BuLi News, Bayern Munich expect Serge Gnabry to be fit for the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid, after the forward missed the 5-0 win at St Pauli with a minor knee issue.

Bayern’s board member for sport Max Eberl delivered the update in the mixed zone in Hamburg, explaining they felt it was unwise for Gnabry to travel.

With two flights involved, he was unlikely to have been an option on the pitch anyway, Eberl said.

Gnabry started the first leg and set up Luis Díaz’s opener in Bayern’s 2-1 win at the Bernabeu.

The quarter-final resumes on Wednesday.
