Mazzocchi ‘pressed reset’ after nightmare Napoli debut | OneFootball

Pasquale Mazzocchi gets his first start for Napoli and assures he has ‘pressed the reset button’ after his red card for the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against Fiorentina.

It kicks off at the Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh at 19.00 GMT.

The winner will be decided tonight after 90 minutes or go straight to a penalty shoot-out, without extra time.

“Fiorentina are doing very well this season, but we analysed our errors and tonight it is our duty to give everything to the last second, first for us and then for our fans,” Mazzocchi told Mediaset.

Walter Mazzarri seems to have made a radical change to their tactics, scrapping the 4-3-3 that allowed Luciano Spalletti to win the Scudetto and instead has gone back to his favoured 3-4-3 formation.

“The coach has not told us yet, all we are called to do is give our all.”

Mazzocchi made a dramatic debut in the Napoli jersey after the transfer from Salernitana, as he came on as a substitute and was sent off within four minutes against Torino. Has he put that behind him and is ready to start again?

The winners go on to face either Inter or Lazio in the Supercoppa Final on Monday evening, which will also be in Riyadh as part of this new Final Four format.
