Two of world football’s star strikers are on the verge of equalling Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo in the history books.

The pair in question? Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.

Both Mbappé and Haaland have of course taken their place front and centre in the headlines across the world of football over the early months of the new campaign.

This comes amid staggering respective spells of goalscoring form.

In the case of the former, Mbappé has emerged as Real Madrid’s most integral player, courtesy of 15 goals in 11 appearances across all competitions.

Manchester City counterpart Haaland, meanwhile, has found the net 14 times in the colours of the Sky Blues, in one appearance less.

Both have also been in stellar form on the international front, giving rise to the head-turning statistic alluded to above.
