Emerging boot brands rely on star power, with Kylian Mbappé’s long-term deal with ON the standout example. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, others have moved fast by enlisting big names.
New Balance built three core lines, Furon for speed, Tekela for control and touch, and 442 for classic comfort. Its roster includes Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, and Real Madrid pair Endrick and Yan Diomandé.
Under Armour brought innovation, fit and performance to football, notably with Clone, which lets the upper mould to the foot. That underpins Magnetico, focused on ball control, and is fronted by Antonio Rüdiger, Fermín López, Ferrán Torres and Achraf Hakimi.
Mizuno have over 40 years in the game. The 1985 Morelia weighed only 245 grams and set a premium template of top-grade leather and craftsmanship, now showcased by Sergio Ramos, Joao Félix and Mason Mount.
Others have built around a single face. Kipsta signed Antoine Griezmann in 2024, with the forward involved in developing Decathlon’s boots. Decathlon executive Sergio San Felipe said Griezmann matters but is not the only driver, adding the tie-up fits a strategy that delivers steady growth.
Skechers made a big push in 2023, persuading Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane to switch on a lifetime contract, with some estimates up to €15 million. Kane helps develop the boots and has an almost bespoke design.
