Before Elche v Real Madrid at the Martínez Valero, a solidarity shirt for Ceuta drew three notable exceptions. Mbappé, Vinicius and Konaté did not fully display its message, and two later took the shirt off.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, both teams walked out in white tops reading ‘Todos somos Caballas’. The trio wore them so the wording was partly covered, then Mbappé and Vinicius removed theirs shortly after.

Players from both clubs kept the slogan visible during the pre-match moment, in contrast to the trio. The collective gesture was therefore shaped by their choice.

The initiative has appeared at other LaLiga fixtures in recent days, as football adds its voice in support of Ceuta. Elche and Real Madrid followed that pattern before kick-off.

Ez Abde took part in the gesture before playing Villarreal, then received insults and threats on social media from Moroccan users who viewed the shirt as political. He said his intention was only to show solidarity with Ceuta’s citizens and that he is proud of his roots.
