Mbappé & Vinícius miss out as Real Madrid reveal Player of the Month nominees | OneFootball

The Player of the Month nominees at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Tuesday been revealed. And the shortlist features headline absentees, in the form of attacking pair Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr.

José Mourinho’s Real are of course fresh off something of a hit-and-miss month all told in September.

Across five fixtures between La Liga and the Champions League, Los Blancos racked up three wins, but were also condemned to a pair of defeats. The most recent came at the hands of city rivals Atlético, and saw Mourinho and co. fall a full six points off the pace atop the La Liga table.

Despite these collective woes, the Real Madrid faithful were nevertheless recently asked to put forward their candidates for the Player of the Month prize at the club.

And as alluded to above, on Tuesday, the results of this vote have been revealed. The five-man shortlist for POTM at the Santiago Bernabéu consists of the following names:
