Maria McAneny and Natasha Donaghy have won the February 2025 Scottish Women’s Premier League Player of the Month awards, supported by Park’s Motor Group.
With this being the first SWPL Player of the Month nomination of her career, McAneny wins the award following a pair of impressive performances in the month. She scored three goals in two games during February, bringing her to a total of nine goals and four assists in 25 matches, across the League and Sky Sports Cup, for Celtic this season.
Celtic had a solid February, picking up four points out of a possible six in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League, including an impressive 8-0 win away from home against Dundee United. The Hoops also played out a tightly contested 2-2 draw with Glasgow City in front of the BBC Scotland cameras for the first time. The match included a terrific left footed strike from McAneny that also earned her the February 2025 Goal of the Month award, supported by Park’s Motor Group.
Maria’s crucial involvements within these two games in February have helped Celtic maintain their title challenge at the summit of the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League table, as they look to retain the trophy following their 2023/24 triumph.

In ScottishPower Women’s Premier League 2, Natasha Donaghy also wins the award for the first time in her career. She becomes Ayr United’s first ever winner of this award, further recognising the strides the club have made on the pitch this month.
The attacking midfielder scored a crucial goal in the 2-2 draw with relegation rivals Rossvale which rounded off an undefeated February for the club, giving them confidence in their battle to maintain SWPL 2 status for next season. This also included an impressive 2-2 draw with top of the table Hamilton, as well as a further draw with Livingston, a match in which the mid-season signing also contributed a clever assist.
The other nominees for the February 2025 SWPL award were Rio Hardy (Rangers), Amy Muir (Glasgow City), and Kirsten Reilly (Hibernian) and for the SWPL 2 award were Cara Gray (Kilmarnock) and Cailin Michie (Boroughmuir Thistle).
