AC Milan are interested in signing centre-back Koni De Winter and could make their move ahead of the summer window, a report claims.
There are some doubts about the future of Milan’s defensive department given that Strahinja Pavlovic and Fikayo Tomori were both linked with January exits but chose to stay, while Malick Thiaw has been the subject of interest from abroad.
According to the latest from SportMediaset, Genoa declined an offer from Saudi Arabia for De Winter in the winter mercato. Milan and some of the Premier League’s top clubs have been interested in the Belgian defender for some time.
The asking price is €25m, with Juventus getting 20% of the resale price. An auction could start in the summer with Genoa naturally hoping for a bidding war to break out.
The same source also cite a report from Belgium today stating that Inter are on the trail of Koni De Winter. The Nerazzurri will have to implement a restyling of the squad in the summer, inserting young players in various departments who can lower the average age.
The Belgian centre-back has entered the sights of Beppe Marotta and co. but they believe the asking price to be €30m and not what Mediaset are stating.
