Tottenham have been highly active in the summer transfer window to bolster their squad and push for higher ambitions this season under Roberto De Zerbi.

After spending heavily on bolstering their defence and midfield, the N17 side are now looking to improve their attacking options.

The north London club have prioritised two wide players, with Cody Gakpo and Savinho their leading targets, while Marmoush is being pursued to strengthen the striker position.

Spurs have reached an agreement in principle to sign Savinho from Manchester City in a club-record deal worth up to £85m.

Now the Lilywhites are looking to bring the Egyptian striker to N17, with the north London club confident that the deal will be completed soon.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla there has been significant progress and there is a ‘medical soon’.

The 27-year-old striker joined Manchester City during the winter transfer window of 2025 and was often used in a supporting role behind Erling Haaland.

Should the Egyptian join the north London club, it could raise questions over the futures of several Spurs attackers, with Richarlison and Dominic Solanke both linked with exits.

The need for stronger attacking reinforcements was further highlighted in Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat to Brentford in their Premier League opener, where their attackers failed to make an impact.

De Zerbi went with Richarlison up top against Brentford, supported by Mathys Tel and Mikey Moore. Solanke came off off the bench for Richarlison in the second half.

It remains to be seen when Spurs will be able to complete the signing of Marmoush.

Another striker the Lilywhites are linked with is Nicolas Jackson, and the north London club are involved in a ‘head-to-head battle’ with Aston Villa for Chelsea’s in-demand hitman and he does look more Villa Park bound at the moment.

Meanwhile, Pape Matar Sarr ‘has told Tottenham he wants to leave’, with De Zerbi accepting the midfielder’s decision, amid strong interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray.
