In an interview with RTBF, Charleroi Sporting Director Mehdia Bayat was asked a number of questions about his upcoming plans at Charleroi. One of these was around the future of star midfielder Adem Zorgane. The Algerian has been the sides best player in the past few seasons, yet that he has remained at the club for so long has been confusing from the outside. Speaking about the future of Zorgane at the club, Bayat said: ‘Adem Zorgane has been with us for four years . At some point, he has to leave. We never put a price on a player; the market determines it‘.

Reading between the lines, it is clear that there has been some interest in Zorgane in recent years, but no one has met the clubs valuation within the market. Surely this year will finally be the year that Zorgane leaves the side, and it appears that Bayat is preparing the fanbase for the inevitable departure.

Since joining the club from Algerian side Paradou AC, Zorgane has gone on the play 132 games for the Zebras, scoring 10 goals. He has also provided 25 assists in that time. At just 25-years-old, Zorgane is about to enter his prime. Transfermarkt values the midfielder at €5m, although it is like Charleroi would want more for him given that his current contract runs until 2027.
