Melnichenka earns ninth Belarus cap in World Cup qualifiers

Trafim Melnichenka earned his ninth cap for Belarus on Sunday afternoon in Glasgow, where the team coached by Carlos Alós faced Scotland in the fourth round of European qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

The FC Porto B team forward came on in the 56th minute but was unable to prevent Belarus’s defeat to Scotland (2-1), who moved to the top of Group C with three points and a one-game advantage over Victor Froholdt’s Denmark.
