Memphis celebrates gold certification for EP made with MC Hariel

Corinthians forward Memphis Depay celebrated the gold certificate received for the EP “Talking to the Favelas”, a project launched in partnership with MC Hariel. The work, released in February this year, consists of four songs produced last year, reaching over 19 million audio and video streams, resulting in the recognition granted by Warner Music.

On Thursday (27), the player shared a post on social media showing a photo of him alongside MC Hariel with the certificates. In the message, Memphis thanked the professionals involved in the production: “It's just the beginning, but with every step towards greatness, we must be grateful,” the player said on Instagram.

In the same post, the Dutchman also mentioned the relationship built with the artist since his arrival in the country: “MC Hariel, you are very different, brother: since I arrived in Brazil, you have shown me love, and we became family instantly: They are not ready for what's next!”

The EP features references to Corinthians both in the lyrics and in the visual productions. The track “Peita do Coringão” directly mentions the alvinegro team, while the music video for “Talking to the Favelas” shows Memphis with a Timão flag.

Off the field, the forward, who began his musical journey back in 2011 when he played for PSV in the Netherlands, keeps music as a hobby parallel to his sports career. Currently, Memphis is undergoing treatment due to a bone edema identified after a sprain in his left knee, with no return date yet. Since joining Corinthians, the player has accumulated 60 matches, 17 goals, and 14 assists.
