Memphis Depay has returned to Brazil and resumed treatment for his injury at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. The forward rejoined Corinthians on Saturday morning after time in Europe during the international break.
While in Europe, the No 10 began rehab for a grade two muscle injury in his right thigh and was withdrawn from the Netherlands squad. He also underwent sessions in Madrid, Spain, working with physiotherapist Fermin Valera, a trusted figure.
The problem was sustained in Corinthians’ draw with Flamengo. Depay started but lasted only 20 minutes. He felt discomfort moments before Yuri Alberto scored, having supplied the pass to Matheus Bidu in the build-up to the cross for the No nine.
The Dutchman has required careful management since the start of the year. In January he missed the opening weeks due to a muscular rebalancing following knee pain late in 2025. After the draw with Chapecoense, when he did not travel for load control, it emerged he had been playing with physical limitations.
Transfermarkt states this was the 23rd medical issue of his career since debuting for PSV Eindhoven at 17. At Corinthians, across one year and six months, he has had seven similar setbacks.
This season Depay has 12 appearances, 10 as a starter, with one goal and one assist, for a total of 776 minutes.
Without him, Corinthians face Internacional on Sunday five April at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena in the 10th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
