Memphis says he is feeling good as the Netherlands step up World Cup preparations, finishing a second day of training at the KNVB campus in Zeist.
"My instinct tells me things are going well. I feel good, I am happy to be with the group. I could not be there in March, but I can now. I am very excited for the World Cup," he told Telegraaf.
He missed more than two months after a grade 2 hamstring strain in March, returning in May. He has since played twice, 61 minutes in a 1-0 win over Atlético-MG and 46 in a 2-0 loss to Platense.
"Initially I was meant to play 60 to 70 minutes in the second Corinthians match, but it was an Argentine team and they kick a lot. The coach said at half-time, stay on the bench so you can travel safely to the Netherlands. The final tournament is what matters," he said.
He was released after last Wednesday’s Platense defeat and reported on Saturday.
FIFA will pay Corinthians 11,000 dollars per day while he is at the World Cup, at least 132,000 dollars for the group stage, rising to 396,000 if the Dutch reach the final.
The Dutch are in Group F, opening against Japan on 14 June in Arlington, then facing Sweden in Houston and Tunisia in Kansas City. Warm-ups are against Algeria on 3 June in Rotterdam and Uzbekistan on 8 June in New York.
