Memphis returns to training, Corinthians prepare to face Santos

Corinthians has begun preparations for the second derby of the Paulista Championship. On the morning of this Tuesday (20th), the alvinegro squad regrouped at the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center and conducted technical activities in preparation for the match against Santos, valid for the fourth round of the State Championship.

The session started with activation in the gym, followed by warm-up on the field. Next, the coaching staff led a ball possession exercise. Players who played more than 45 minutes in the draw with São Paulo were directed to a regenerative activity inside the training center, while the others remained on the field for specific drills, including attack versus defense and sectoral complements.

The main highlight of the activity was the presence of forward Memphis Depay, who participated in his first training session with the group at the start of this season. The number 10 is still undergoing muscle rebalancing and is closely monitored by the physical department. Meanwhile, defender Cacá did not take to the field and continues treatment for a strain in the left internal oblique muscle.

Despite returning to training, the Dutchman will not be available for the Alvinegro Derby. In a press conference after the 1-1 draw with São Paulo, coach Dorival Júnior ruled out the player's presence in the match and advocated caution regarding his return to the field.

The alvinegro team will conclude preparations for the derby on the morning of this Wednesday (21st), again at the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center. The match against Santos is scheduled for Thursday (22nd) at 7:30 PM at Vila Belmiro.
