Corinthians host Santos at Neo Química Arena on Sunday in the 25th round, a clássico that could renew the duel between Memphis Depay and Neymar.

Most of their clashes came in France, when Memphis was at Lyon against Neymar’s Paris Saint-Germain, five times. That run included a goalless Coupe de la Ligue final decided 6-5 on penalties for PSG. In Ligue 1, PSG claimed three wins to Lyon’s one, the latter in round 14 of 2020/21.

Since Neymar returned to Santos at the start of 2025, Memphis has shaded the rivalry in Brazil. On 12 February 2025, in the ninth round of the Paulista, both started and the Corinthians number 10 set up Yuri Alberto in a 2-1 win in Itaquera.

Their next meeting was on 15 March 2026 in the sixth round of the Brasileirão, a 1-1 draw at Vila Belmiro. Memphis scored Corinthians’ goal, while Neymar had a subdued outing.

The Dutch forward could make his first Corinthians start in three months. He last began a match on 27 May, in a Libertadores defeat to Platense, then featured at the World Cup and signed a new deal to mid 2028.

The clássico also offers Corinthians a chance to respond after back-to-back league defeats to Cruzeiro and Coritiba. They sit 10th with 32 points.
