According to Globo.com, Memphis Depay has begun his physical transition and took part in on-pitch work for the first time this season during Corinthians' Wednesday morning session at CT Joaquim Grava.

The forward remains without a return date for Dorival Júnior. He is in the final stages of recovery from bone oedema in his left knee, sustained in the closing rounds of last year's Campeonato Brasileiro.

Memphis completed fitness drills without the ball alongside the club's fitness coaches. Since the squad regrouped on 3 January, the Dutchman had worked indoors on physiotherapy and strength.

In the coming days he is likely to join parts of group training. The club only intends to clear him to play in 2026 once the issue is fully resolved.

Corinthians face Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday at 19:30 Brasília time in Bragança Paulista, in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista. Memphis is under contract until 20 June 2026 and has 19 goals and 14 assists in 65 appearances for the club, with two trophies, the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil, both in 2025.
