His initial contract with Radnički Niš was set to expire at the end of this June, but Cameroonian defender Thierry Etoungou has decided to continue his journey with the Meraklije.
According to the latest rumors, a full agreement has been reached between Thierry Etoungou and Radnički Niš for a contract extension of two additional seasons. The 25-year-old player is now tied to the club until June 2027.
This extension is, in a way, a significant vote of confidence from the Radnički Niš management, despite a mixed record since his arrival in 2022 from AS Fortuna. Over three seasons, Etoungou has only managed to play 35 official matches with the first team, repeatedly sidelined by injuries that have limited his playing time.
According to our sources, the Serbian club's sporting directors believe the central defender has yet to fully showcase his talent and want to give him the optimal conditions to get back on track. This contract renewal is therefore part of a strategy of stability and continuity, with hopes that the Cameroonian international will return to his best form in the coming seasons.
The official announcement of the agreement is expected in the coming hours.
