According to SuperDepor.com, Messi arrived in Argentina from the United States on Tuesday and will join the Argentina squad for training this afternoon.

He landed at 6:45 at Ezeiza Airport, then travelled to the Ezeiza base that bears his name. Lionel Scaloni's side will work behind closed doors from 17:00.

Messi returns after reaching 900 career goals. He also scored in Inter Miami CF's 3-2 win over New York City FC in the fifth round of Major League Soccer.

He links up with those who checked in on Monday, including Exequiel Palacios, Nicolás Otamendi, Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister, Thiago Almada, Franco Mastantuono, Julián Álvarez, Nahuel Molina, Nicolás González, Giuliano Simeone, Nicolás Tagliafico and Joaquín Panichelli.

Argentina will face Mauritania on Friday at La Bombonera from 20:15, then host Zambia on Tuesday 31 March at the same stadium. The captain could also feature in the second match, which will be the team's final game in the country before the 2026 World Cup.
