Metz captain Gauthier Hein subject of MLS interest | OneFootball

FC Metz could lose a whole swathe of first-team players this month, including their club captain, Gauthier Hein (29), according to a report from L’Équipe.

Hein was a key part of Metz’s promotion back to Ligue 1 last season. He made the audacious move to return to Les Grenats, leaving AJ Auxerre, whom he had just helped earn promotion back to the top-flight, to pull off the same feat with Metz. 

It was a successful move for the attacking midfielder, and he has remained the club’s creative spark in the opening months of the current campaign. But he is now attracting interest from across the Atlantic. As per L’Équipe’s report, Hein is the subject of interest from FC Dallas and San José Earthquakes, even if there is not yet any official contact between the MLS sides and the Ligue 1 club. The transfer window in the MLS remains open until the end of March.
