Auxerre, driven by Lassine Sinayoko, beat Metz 3-1 to move four points clear. It was their first Ligue 1 win since December 2025, and Metz remain bottom and winless in their last 10.

The visitors led in the fourth minute when Sadibou Sané turned into his own net after Kévin Danois robbed Gauthier Hein and released Sinayoko on the left. L'Équipe highlighted Sinayoko's dominant display in that role.

Naouirou Ahamada, an AJA winter addition from Crystal Palace, provided a key pass before Sinayoko set up Michel Mboula for the second on 76. Both decisive actions came from Sinayoko's right foot.

He then released Danois, who finished smartly with his right on 89, sealing it. Danois had earlier caught the eye with his aggression and use of the ball.

Hein’s difficult spell continued after losing the armband and starting on the bench against Lille 0-0, his error led to the opener and he was replaced by Giorgi Kvilitaia on 73. Koffi Kouao faded after the break and was withdrawn on 62, with Maxime Colin on, while Giorgi Tsitaichvili also struggled. For Auxerre, Romain Faivre underwhelmed again and made way for Lasso Coulibaly on 72.
