More MLS action continued on Saturday with plenty of games across the United States and Canada.

Here is what went down.

Inter Miami dazzle without their stars

Scorers: Gauld 72′ (P); Taylor 38′, Campana 54′

Inter Miami proved they can still get the job done even without Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez against Vancouver Whitecaps.

Instead, Robert Taylor was the orchestrator scoring a thunder-strike and later setting up Leonardo Campanada for the winner.

A late Ryan Gauld penalty was the only thing Vancouver had to show for their efforts after registering just two shots on target.

Galaxy return to winning ways

Scorers: Pec 44′, Puig 59′; Blessing 18′

LA Galaxy ended their five game winless streak with a home victory over Houston Dynamo.

The visitors opened the scoring when Latif Blessing capitalized on a poor pass from goalkeeper John McCarthy.

However, Gabriel Pec’s header turned things level before a now-blonde Riqui Puig won it with an effort from the top of the box.

Austin forced to fight in San Jose

Scorers: Ebobisse 10′; Hines-Ike 44′

Bottom-side San Jose Earthquakes made Austin FC fight for a point on the road.

The hosts had their attackers on fire, with 22 shots to five and Jeremy Ebobisse scored at the back post for the opener.

However, Austin’s only shot on target was bundled over the line by Brendan Hines-Ike to share the points.

Portland make it back-to-back home wins

Scorers: Mora 51′, Evander 79′; Rodriguez 62′

Portland seem to have found their confidence in front of home fans again after digging deep to beat Sporting KC.

Felipe Mora headed home the opener before Memo Rodriquez scored his first for the visitors from outside the box.

It looked like it would end in a draw until a late volley from Evander ensured the Timbers kept all three points for back-to-back home wins.

Honours even in Colorado

Scorers: Cabral 18′, 71′, Navarro 62′; Sang-bin 8′, 33′, Oluwaseyi 24′

The third match on Saturday to register six or more goals saw Colorado Rapids hold Minnesota United FC.

Sang-bin Joeng was the star for the visitors, netting a 33-minute brace and had another shot saved before Tani Oluwaseyi slammed home the rebound.

But a brace from Kevin Cabral helped the hosts pull level with Rafael Navarro tapping another home between both goals.

RSL impress as Dallas collapse

Scorers: MacMath 45+4 (OG), Delgado 57′, Arriola 59′; Luna 61′, Julio 73′, Palacio 90+8′

More entertainment continued in Dallas when the hosts collapsed despite scoring three unanswered goals by the hour mark thanks to two errors from goalkeeper Zac MacMath.

Real Salt Lake, with time, pulled off the comeback.

Anderson Julio scored an inch-perfect curler from outside the box for 3-2 before Nelson Palacio drove home the equalizer with seconds remaining.

Seattle hold on in St. Louis

Scorers: Totland 82′; Hiebert 66′ (OG), Morris 69′

Seattle Sounders held on for a road win in St. Louis despite only one actual shot on target.

A Kyle Hiebert own-goal opened the scoring before Jordan Morris doubled the lead after pouncing on a perfect through ball from Albert Rusnak.

Tomas Totland later scored a consolation goal despite the hosts registering 22 attempts.

Seven-goal thriller at BMO Field

Scorers: Flores 25′, Murphy 63′ (OG), Insigne 85′ (P); Orellano 53′, 79′, Kelsy 55′, Santos 90+3′

The game of the weekend pitted two heavyweights against each other and this one delivered for fans.

Toronto’s Deiby Flores scored a thumping header before quick-fire goals from Luca Orellano and Kevin Kelsy (who now has three since joining the club) turned it around.

However, the drama continued late into the second half. Ian Murphy’s own-goal levelled the score 2-2 and then it was pure fireworks at BMO Field.

Orellano secured a brace with a low drive before TFC star Lorenzo Insigne made it 3-3 from the spot.

A late run from Sergio Santos in the dying seconds ensured Cincinnati claimed all three points for a club-record seven game winning streak.

Red card central as LAFC scrape by

Scorer: Bogusz 63′. Red cards: Guzan 60′; Atuesta 81′

Despite controlling the game against LAFC, Atlanta United were forced to play the final 30 minutes with 10 men when goalkeeper Brad Guzan took down Mateusz Bogusz in the box.

Bogusz’s stunning free-kick then broke the deadlock yet the winners were also reduced to 10 men when Eduard Atuesta was sent off with a second yellow.

It’s now nine straight MLS games without a win for Atlanta, four of which arrived at home.

Nothing to show between Montreal and Nashville

The points were split between CF Montreal and Nashville SC after neither found the back of the net over 90 minutes.

The visitors, however, will wonder what could have been if Joel Waterman didn’t pull off an acrobatic goal-line clearance in the first half.

Spoils shared between Charlotte and Philly

A second goalless draw on Saturday night saw mid-table clubs Charlotte FC and Philadelphia Union split the points.

The hosts dominated possession (66%) but only four shots on target resulted in a missed opportunity. The visitors, meanwhile, will leave frustrated with five shots on target from 10 all falling short.

Late show saves NYCFC

Scorer: Parks 81′

New York City FC were forced to dig deep for an away win against bottom-side New England Revolution.

A late Keaton Parks header was the difference at Gilette Stadium and helped the visitors sit third in the table.

Columbus claim three points in Orlando

Scorers: Rossi 45+1′, 61′ (P)

One man proved the decider in this one as Diego Rossi’s precise brace helped Columbus win in Orlando despite only three shots on target.

Honours even at Audi Field

Scorers: McVey 20′; Acosta 53′

Another draw on Saturday saw D.C. United and Chicago Fire split the points at Audi Field.

An outstretched Christopher McVey had the hosts in front when he bundled home his first goal of the season before Kellyn Acosta ensured the points were split with a low drive from the top of the box.
