Reports suggest Red Devils interim boss will be sticking around next season
Michael Carrick has dropped a new hint as to whether or not he will continue in his role as Manchester United manager next season.
The former Red Devils midfielder has enjoyed a productive spell as the club’s interim head coach, a post he took on after Ruben Amorim was sacked in January.
Under Carrick’s leadership, United have achieved his sole objective of qualifying for the Champions League, steering the club to third place in the Premier League.
Reports suggest he has agreed a two-year deal to continue in the role, and he gave fresh fuel to the rumours as he addressed Old Trafford following Sunday’s 3-2 defeat of Nottingham Forest.

He told the packed stands that he was grateful for their support and added that he hoped to deliver more ‘big moments’.
Carrick said: “I just want to say a massive thank you for the season, it’s unbelievable to see this place so full.
“Enjoy today, we’ve had some big moments and big goals at this place over the last few months.
“Hopefully we will have a few more of them. Take care and have a good summer.”
Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia are both confirmed to be leaving United as free agents this summer, and Carrick bid both a fond farewell.
He went on: “We have players leaving us and out of contract. Casemiro has obviously been incredible, we have a really good connection so it’s nice to see the response that he gets.
“We have Tyrell (Malacia) as well, he’s had a tough time with injuries since he’s been here but please show your appreciation to him.”
