Manchester United drew 1-1 at Fulham in their final Premier League game before a three-week international break.

United were heading towards a defeat after Lisandro Martinez inadvertently put the ball into his own net just after the hour mark.

Matheus Cunha rescued a point by scoring late on, courtesy of a deflection off a shot that wrong-footed goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The Red Devils’ performance at Craven Cottage was concerning, and they were lucky to come away with a point.

Marcus Rashford was especially poor, and manager Michael Carrick should drop him from the starting XI for the next fixture.

Rashford squandered a brilliant scoring opportunity in the first half.

The England international lost possession of the ball on 11 occasions and managed just one successful dribble. He was eventually replaced with 15 minutes remaining due to a groin injury.

Carrick defended Rashford’s performance after the match, saying he was a ‘threat’ and could have scored a couple of goals.

Despite what the manager publicly says, it would be a surprise if the 28-year-old retains his spot in the team when they face Tottenham Hotspur on October 10.

Rashford impressed during his loan spell at Barcelona, bagging 14 goals and 15 assists in 49 appearances.

He has yet to make a goal contribution in five Premier League matches.
