The Guardian reports that Michael Carrick is expected to sign a new contract to remain Manchester United manager.
The agreement is set to be for two years, with an additional year as an option, and could be finalised before United host Nottingham Forest on Sunday at 13:30.
Carrick, 44, arrived in mid-January as interim, replacing Ruben Amorim.
Since then, United have climbed from sixth to third in the Premier League. With two matches remaining, they are almost certain to keep that position and have already secured a place in next season’s Champions League.
A top-three finish would be their first in the Premier League since 2022-2023.
