Former Flamengo target Michael Johnston is joint-top of the Championship assist chart this season with nine. The West Bromwich Albion player is enjoying a strong 2026.
According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo had agreed a five million pound move, around R$ 37 million at current rates, with West Bromwich Albion for Johnston and had flights booked to Rio de Janeiro, but cancelled the transfer citing physical issues, with fan pressure also playing a part.

Flamengo have now turned their attention to the Recopa Sudamericana return leg against Lanús at the Maracanã on Thursday 26.
