Michael Olise named Bundesliga Player of the Season

Michael Olise was named Bundesliga Player of the Season on Saturday after Bayern Munich’s 5-1 win over Cologne on the final day. As reported by L'Équipe, the 24-year-old forward claimed the accolade.

Olise came on in the 61st minute and did not add to his tally. He ends the campaign with 15 goals and 21 assists.

It is his first individual award of this type. He had been named rookie of the season last year.

Olise is the second Frenchman to receive it, after Christopher Nkunku in 2021-2022. Nkunku finished that season with 20 goals and 15 assists for RB Leipzig.

Despite 12 seasons at Bayern, Franck Ribéry never won the prize, which was created only in 2019, the year he left for Fiorentina.
