Speculation surrounding Michael Olise and a possible move to Real Madrid has been a hot topic of conversation in recent weeks. While FC Bayern has consistently dismissed the rumors, transfer expert Constantin Eckner now also believes the German record champions clearly hold the upper hand.

Bayern Munich has been keeping a close eye on Michael Olise’s future for months. The French national team player has repeatedly been linked with Real Madrid. However, sporting director Max Eberl recently described the ongoing speculation as exaggerated and made it clear that neither Bayern Munich nor Real Madrid had provided any basis for a transfer.

The record champions are now receiving backing from transfer market expert Constantin Eckner. In an interview with the tz, the journalist made it clear that the Munich club is in a comfortable negotiating position.

Bayern holds all the cards

“Bayern Munich has him under contract through 2029, and there’s no buyout clause. That means the club essentially holds all the cards,” Eckner explained.

While there are certainly examples in modern soccer of players actively pushing for a transfer, the industry expert considers such a scenario extremely unlikely in Olise’s case. “Of course, Olise could try to force a transfer if he really wanted to. But I don’t think that would reflect well on him,” Eckner emphasized.

On top of that, Real Madrid itself has repeatedly denied the speculation in recent days. Instead, the Royals are on the verge of signing RB’s rising star Yan Diomande. A transfer during this transfer window is thus definitively off the table.

Bayern hopes to usher in a new era with Olise

Even in the long term, the expert sees no urgent need for action. He expects serious transfer rumors to surface, at the earliest, during the final years of the attacking player’s contract. “Of course, in soccer you never know what will happen. But as of today, Olise is under contract with Bayern through 2029,” Eckner explained. If Munich does not extend his contract by then, serious discussions about a departure could arise in 2027 or 2028 at the earliest.

At FC Bayern, Olise is already held in extremely high regard internally. The Frenchman immediately established himself as one of the team’s key players in his first season and, together with Harry Kane, formed the heart of the offense. With his creativity, goal-scoring threat, and versatility, the 24-year-old is already one of the defining faces of the team.

That is precisely why the club’s leadership is pursuing a clear strategy. The record champions want to keep Olise at the club for the long term and develop him into one of the team’s new icons—much like Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben were the face of Bayern’s offense for many years.

From Munich’s perspective, there is therefore currently no reason whatsoever to consider a sale. Rather, Olise, along with Luis Díaz and Harry Kane, is expected to form the foundation of a successful Bayern team for years to come.
