Michael Oliver will take charge of Leeds United vs Brighton at Elland Road, the Whites’ final Premier League home match of the season. The Premier League have confirmed the match officials for Sunday.
Leeds sign off at home with safety already secured. They were safe before kicking a ball at Tottenham on Monday, then came from behind to take a point against their relegation rivals.
Brighton arrive seventh, two points behind Bournemouth in sixth, a position that could mean Champions League qualification this season.
Oliver will be assisted by Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring, with Sam Allison as fourth official. Stuart Attwell will oversee VAR at Stockley Park.
The FIFA referee has already overseen three Leeds games this season, including November’s reverse fixture, a 3-0 defeat at the Amex. He also handled February’s 1-1 draw at Aston Villa and September’s 2-2 at home to Bournemouth.
Oliver’s games average 22.81 fouls and three point zero four yellow cards, placing him among the more lenient top-flight officials.
Attwell was the referee for February’s 1-0 home loss to Sunderland, when Luke O’Nien’s grab on Pascal Struijk in the box was not penalised. VAR Paul Tierney checked the incident but did not recommend an on-field review, and the call was later judged incorrect. Daniel Farke was far from happy with the decision.
