Middlesbrough are interested in signing Cagliari striker Alberto Cerri, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Neil Warnock has been trying to bolster his attacking options this summer, after bidding farewell to the likes of Britt Assombalonga and Ashley Fletcher at the end of last season.
Uche Ikpeazu has arrived from Wycombe, but despite also casting the net far and wide, deals for the likes of Rodrigo Muniz are yet to be completed.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, another striker who is now on Boro’s radar is Cagliari’s Alberto Cerri.

Cerri moved to Cagliari from Juventus in 2019, after failing to make a single appearance for the Italian giants during his time in Turin.
Last season, the 25-year-old scored only one goal in 24 Serie A appearances, and he has found the net only eight times in 82 matches for the club.
Tuttomercatoweb claim that Boro are admirers of the player, whilst Como are also said to have placed Cerri on their radar.
The Verdict
This would be a bit of a strange signing.
Cerri is obviously a talented player, as Cagliari wouldn’t have spent €9m to lure him away from Juventus only a couple of years ago.
His record in front of goal for Cagliari has been disappointing, so it makes me wonder whether he has the talent to move to England and hit the ground running in a tough league like the Championship.
He is only 25 though so he is still yet to enter his prime and there is still potential there, so maybe Warnock could get the best out of him.
