Teams from across the continent are interested in buying the defender this summer.
Feyenoord are the latest team to be linked with signing Middlesbrough defender Rav van den Berg this summer.
The reports of vast swathes of interest in the Dutchman have been confirmed by the man himself. There is interest in van den Berg from across the continent, giving Boro a tricky situation to deal with.
An up-and-coming defender with a lot of promise, the Teessiders only paid a miniscule £260,000 to PEC Zwolle for the 21-year-old two summers ago, and could now make some serious profit on him.
van den Berg has had his injury issues since arriving at the Riverside Stadium. Last season, for example, he started only half of Boro's Championship matches.
That hasn't put off all the teams that are monitoring him though, with a new European figure joining the long list of interested parties.
A report from Dutch outlet VI has claimed that Feyenoord like the look of the Boro man and have made contact with them about signing van den Berg. They were also linked with the 21-year-old's older brother Sepp last summer, as per VI, but he moved from Liverpool to Brentford instead.
Feyenoord are just the latest team to show interest in van den Berg. The Bees have been linked with reuniting the brothers at the Gtech Community Stadium, with a £15 million offer potentially heading Boro's way, as per Alan Nixon.
Their London and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace see the same potential in the Netherlands under-21 international. According to The Sun, they are considering making a double move for van den Berg and star midfielder Hayden Hackney.
Palace's interest in northeastern talent also stretches to Finn Azaz, who Palace have admired for a while. He could cost any potential suitors up to €25 million (~ £21.5 million) this summer, as per the Irish Examiner.
Other teams from the continent that have also been linked with van den Berg include German trio Stuttgart, Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg. That's according to Sky Sports.
The sheer amount of teams who may make moves for van den Berg this summer could be both good and bad for Boro. The more teams that enter the race, their chances of holding onto him feel slimmer and slimmer. At the same time, because of the half-dozen teams that have are reportedly in for van den Berg, quite a lengthy bidding war could start up.
The indication that Brentford were thinking of submitting a £15 million offer for him proves just how big a profit Boro will make on van den Berg, and it could go higher if the auction for the defender becomes increasingly more intense.
Whether that money comes in this window or a future one won't bother them too much. The hard pill of losing the player will be at least slightly made up for by the brilliant bit of business that the club pulled off.
