Daouda Weidmann equalised in the 38th minute with a left-footed strike from outside the box, setting FC Twente up to beat PEC Zwolle 3-1.

Weidmann had been popping up between the lines and, when the chance arrived, he arrowed his shot into the top left to shift the momentum.

Moments later, he released Bart van Rooij on the overlap for a drive that Jasper Schendelaar saved (42.).

After the restart he combined with Sondre Ørjasæter for a blocked effort from a tight angle (72.). He then teed up Wout Weghorst for another blocked attempt from range (74.). Soon after, his pass found Kristian Hlynsson, whose shot was held (76.).

The midfielder finished with five attempts, three on target and four key passes, underpinning Twente's control in the final third.

Twente rise from 13th to 12th and host Qarabağ in the UEFA Conference League next. Zwolle visit Heerenveen next.
