Club América have confirmed the signing of Miguel Borja from Al-Wasl in the United Arab Emirates, adding the 33-year-old Colombian striker as their third reinforcement for the Apertura 2026 and Leagues Cup 2026.
According to Americayya.net, Borja is due in Mexico City today and has been told to report to Coapa on Thursday morning for medical and physical tests before signing his contract.
Óscar Perea arrived first, a left-sided winger from Racing Strasbourg in France, followed by midfielder Edwin Cerrillo from LA Galaxy in the United States.
Borja is a centre forward with a lengthy South American career, highlighted by spells at River Plate in Argentina, Junior in Colombia and Palmeiras in Brazil.
América do not currently have his profile, with Henry Martín and Patricio Salas more effective behind the striker and Alejandro Cárdenas very young.
Borja will add experience and, if he sustains the level shown at his recent clubs, he could be the striker the team have sought for years.
