Raul Gudino had been the consistent starting goalkeeper for Chivas de Guadalajara all season long up until their last game against Santos Laguna. Miguel Jimenez received the opportunity to start in between the posts and did a fantastic job keeping the clean sheet.
Los Rojiblancos have conceded 14 goals and all have come with Gudino in net as he has been fairly inconsistent this season. Jimenez, 31, has been at Chivas since 2011, but has been a lifetime backup with only 10 games played at Club Deprtivo Guadalajara.
Marcelo Michel Leano is likely to go with Jimenez in the “Superclasico”, which is a bold decision that has the potential to pay off. Club America is currently in dead last with just six points and has struggled to produce offensively with 10 goals scored.
Las Aguilas still have talented players like Roger Martinez, Diego Valdes and Salvador Reyes in the offense. This will be a huge test for Miguel Jimenez, given the pressure of the “Clasico Nacional” and a good performance has the potential to cement his starting role for weeks to come.
This is a very important game for Chivas, who are sitting in 10th place and are considered the favorites for the first time in a long time against Club America.
The Chivas vs Club America match will be broadcast at 7:00 p.m. Pacific: TV Schedule: UNIVERSO, Telemundo Watch Live Online: FuboTV (Watch 7 Days Free)
