Miguel Nogueira appointed to referee Porto v Benfica | OneFootball

The Portuguese Football Federation’s refereeing committee announced on Wednesday, 16 September, that Miguel Nogueira will oversee Porto v Benfica on matchday six of Liga Portugal Betclic.

Paulo Brás and Nuno Pires will be assistants, with Fábio Melo as fourth official. Luís Ferreira is VAR, and João Bessa Silva is AVAR.

The Lisbon Football Association official last took charge of Benfica in last season’s final league round, Estoril v Benfica on the 34th matchday, which finished 3-1 to Benfica. Despite that win, it was not enough for Champions League qualification, sending them to the Europa League.

Nogueira now steps into one of the round’s more demanding fixtures between two leading title contenders, and a sell-out is expected.

Benfica visit Porto on Sunday, 20 September, kick-off 20:30 at Estádio do Dragão, to face the side coached by Francesco Farioli.
